Clinical Update A NEWSLETTER FOR HEALTH PROFESSIONALS Introducing Clinical Update Welcome to the first issue of the Clinical Update. At the Allegheny Center for Lung and Thoracic Disease, we aim to provide comprehensive, innovative clinical services designed to evaluate and treat a wide range of problems, including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, interstitial lung disease, lung cancer, sleep-related breathing disorders, esophageal induced pulmonary disorders, asthma and allergy, among others. As part of that effort, we believe that an ongoing exchange of information about clinical and research experience in these diverse areas may help you deliver the most effective care possible to your patients. Because the Allegheny Center for Lung and Thoracic Disease unites and coordinates the services of specialists in respiratory diseases, thoracic surgery, medical oncology and radiation oncology into one program, it offers patients one of the most accessible and proficient programs of care available in the country. Our goal is to act as a nexus of care for patients and a regional resource for physicians whose patients experience problems requiring this multidisciplinary approach. To that end, we encourage your questions and suggestions for this and subsequent issues of Clinical Update.
