Espophageal Disease Program

Esophageal problems range from disorders of esophageal transit and gastroesophageal reflux to malignant cancers of the esophagus. Unfortunately, Americans are commonly troubled with such problems. As with diseases of the lung, the diagnosis and management of esophageal conditions can be difficult. Proper management requires the concerted efforts of physicians interested and experienced in these processes to reduce disease-related complications and optimize treatment results. The physicians and surgeons of the Allegheny Center for Lung and Thoracic Disease are among the most experienced esophageal specialists in the region.
